"He had words with his neighbor." Bad. "Word of honor!" Good. "May I have a word with you?" Either. Words are the tools of my trade as a Virtual Assistant - whether marketing, client communications, blogs, or any other communication. Words are utterances, collections of sounds or the symbols representing those sounds. They have no meaning except what we assign to them. But they do have power! Look at the word "Inspire." The origin of the word is in-spire, to breathe. If you are inspired, you are breathing in the energy and power around you (in my belief system, that is God). What would happen if you deliberately breathed in specific words? Many of us are familiar with Dr. Emoto's earth-changing work with the science of words affecting water. And those of us in holistic fields understand that, being largely water ourselves, the same power affects our beings. A long-time spiritual coach of mine often has me do breathing "exercises." When dealing with a specific emotional, spiritual or physical issue, I will breathe out what no longer serves, and breathe in the replacement. Breathe OUT obstacles, breathe IN flow. Breathe OUT lack, breathe IN plenty. I can tell you that after years of this exercise, the words have great impact. Of course the breathing affects you on its own, but I have seen great transformations in my energy by consciously choosing to let go of something and replace it with something better. Be inspired and try it!
